October 25, 2023: Hosting a group of medical students from Indiana University Fort Wayne (IUFW) at our mosque was an honor. The students came to learn about Burmese culture and gain an overview of Islam. We were lucky enough to have Imam Hamza present an excellent presentation and discussion on what it means to be a good human being and provided students with valuable insight into the Islamic faith, its teachings, and how they can apply these lessons in their everyday lives as future healthcare professionals.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude towards Clinical Assistant Professor Maria Hines for bringing her class over so that they could get first-hand experience learning about another culture, religion’s beliefs, values, customs, traditions, etc., which is essential if we want better understanding amongst people from all walks of life who come together.
